I've been off the radar the last couple of months and i want to say sorry for that.
My dear Dad became very ill over that time and passed away last weekend.
It is a very sad time for my family and I and it has knocked us around as you'd imagine.
Thank you so much to all of my very understanding Clients who have allowed me to reschedule meetings and for some, delay the delivery of precious images. Thank you for your patience.
Thank you to Jason Good Photography for taking on one of my shoots last minute when i had to fly out to NSW at short notice. You rocked it mate.
I'm now back in Darwin and back in the office, working to complete your collections and taking bookings for shoots.
I will be in contact soon with those of you i had meetings with, to lock in dates that i had to reschedule.
It has been a busy year. I had a wonderful wedding season and have also been out at Point Stuart recently, shooting for The Shady Lady Classic. I have lots of cool shots to share from them and others over the coming weeks. There is a bit to catch up on.
One of the things that has come out of this sad time for me is, i realise even more so now that when someone you love is gone, photographs of them become so so so precious. It has reinforced to me that my images and my work is worthwhile and precious to many people and that i must continue.
The love i have for my father and his loss has affected me deeply. I'll never be the same again. I see the world differently now.
My favourite images of my Dad are of everyday moments, washing the dog with my brother as a toddler, him and i smiling together hanging out at his house in 2008, an image from 1978 of me in a baby carrier on his back with my sister standing holding his hand. All snapshots in time of a long life lived with love and family.
That is what i will continue to do in my work. Capture the real moments, the everyday moments, the simple moments of joy, love, laughter, sadness all of it because thats what you remember when someone you love is gone.
Hold on to those times and cherish them because they are all special moments worth noting.
